My Journey to Becoming a Therapist…
My journey to becoming a therapist began during my undergraduate studies when I sought therapy for obstacles I was facing. With the guidance of a compassionate therapist who played a pivotal role in my healing journey, I realized the impact of having a listening ear during times of uncertainty.
Motivated by my own experiences and my desire to support others on their own paths to healing, I find myself in a role to do just that. I find beauty in the opportunity to assist others in reaching their goals and navigating life’s complexities.
When I am not doing therapy...
I find fulfillment in being active through running or hiking, exploring local coffee shops, and playing board games.
In my downtime, I also enjoy the transformative power of music, whether it's experiencing it live or streaming from my living room. Music has played a significant role in my personal healing journey, leading me to moments of peace and joy.
It takes courage.
Taking the steps to seek help can feel daunting and overwhelming. I am glad you are taking the first of many steps to work towards the change you want to see. You deserve to feel peace and happiness in the life you are creating. I look forward to working collaboratively with you to reach your goals.
My approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and tailored to meet your individual needs. Through our work together, I aim to empower you with insights and strategies that will enable you to make meaningful changes in your life.
You might hear me ask, “Is it ok if we stay right here?” I ask because I believe therapy is a place where you can have agency in your own healing, and where you can feel safe enough to explore what is uncomfortable.
There will be laughter, lots of it, because we all need a space where we can be in touch with the joys of life. There will also be real, unpacking of emotions because I care about you finding relief from the pain and symptoms you are currently experiencing. Together, we’ll become curious about the relationships, beliefs, and patterns that may be shaping the way you see yourself and engage in the world today.
And when you do the hard digging, you can begin to make new meaning of your story. We’ll create a space that allows you to rediscover your voice, your strength, and you will feel empowered again or maybe for the first time ever.
Through our work together, I aim to empower you with insights and strategies that will enable you to make meaningful changes in your life.
I desire that clients can come into each session and be themselves. It is important to me that therapy is not only serious but that there are moments of laughter as well.
Therapy is a journey of ups and downs, and each individual deserves guided support along the way for a fruitful experience. Each person has a different story that is worth sharing and is possible to rewrite.
Sessions are for the client, and I work to be flexible and creative to create an experience that is catered to your needs and desires.
The hope is that we strategically work together for you to grow and thrive in your life.
What to Expect
First, we’ll have our initial 15 minute consultation call to determine whether we are the right fit to work together. I’ll ask you about why you’ve chosen to reach out at this time, what your current challenges and symptoms are, and what your goals are for therapy. You will have time to ask any questions you are wondering about.
Once we determine that it’s the right fit, we will schedule an intake session. During the intake, we will take time to get to know each other. You will share your desired goals and outcomes for therapy, and I will share approaches for how we get you there.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is a sacred space; one that reflects safety and invites you to lead where you need to go.
Healing that lasts.
Seeking therapy takes courage. It's a step that acknowledges the challenges we face and our willingness to address them. While the journey isn't always smooth, therapy provides valuable support and guidance to navigate life's ups and downs effectively.
It's about empowering yourself to explore, heal, and grow, ultimately leading to a more balanced and fulfilling life.
I am passionate about utilizing an integrative and holistic approach that allows for your unique needs to be prioritized. I often integrate the following therapeutic approaches and modalities: Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, Art Incorporation, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
It’s the right time to choose you. Let’s explore what healing really feels like in your life. There is hope, and I would be honored to partner with you in this journey.
