About Alexa

My Journey to Becoming a Therapist...

I have always been drawn to helping others and exploring the complexities of mental health. During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to work with individuals recovering from addiction and co-occurring mental health challenges. The experience was incredibly humbling and I realized how fulfilling it is to walk with others on their path towards healing. As I have continued to navigate my own personal challenges over the years, I have become more inspired to hold space for others and provide a grounding presence.

My Education and Training:

  • Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling – Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester, NH
  • Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation – Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY

What do I do when I am not doing therapy?

I find great joy in hiking, vegetable and herb gardening, and spending time in my kitchen cooking new recipes. I am fascinated with herbalism and enjoy making teas, infusions, tinctures, and other herbal remedies.

As much as I love spending time outdoors, listening to music and strength training at the gym has become a therapeutic outlet for me.

What is it like to work with me?

I will meet you where you are. My goal is to create a space for you to show up as your authentic self, knowing that what you need one day may look different from the next. I want you to feel seen, heard, and empowered throughout the process.

I firmly believe that establishing a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to the therapeutic process. I understand that it takes time to develop trust, so we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. It can be a winding path and there may be times when you need to take a step back, pause, or even tiptoe along the way. Healing is a deeply personal and unique process for everyone and I am here to support you. I will strive to empower you and help you see the potential that lies within you.

During our work together, I will integrate aspects from various therapeutic approaches, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, walk and talk nature therapy, and somatic techniques.

What does the process look like?

We will begin by having a consultation call to determine whether we are a good fit to work together. We will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy at this time and answer any questions that you may have. During the intake session, I will focus on getting to know you more and we will discuss your desired goals and outcomes for therapy. The therapy process looks different for everyone and we will work together to figure out what works best for you. My goal is to create a space in which you feel liberated to be yourself and empowered to voice your needs.

Believe in Your Infinite Potential

Taking the step to reach out is often the hardest part. I hope you can recognize how that in itself is an accomplishment. You have already demonstrated courage and I hope to continue to help you unveil your infinite potential.
